Academy of lyric opera: new announcement online
The academy as protagonist of the prima diffusa

The Palazzo della Ragione in Bergamo is featuring the exhibition Sempre libera. Maria Callas à la Scala, brainchild of the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris and the La Scala Academy and initially staged in Paris, now brought to Bergamo with the support of the Pernice Edizioni publishing house.

The exhibition runs through January 6, 2018. Maria Callas’s stage costumes (Elisabeth of Valois from Don Carlo, Amina from La sonnambula, Violetta from La traviata, Ifigenia from Ifigenia in Tauris and Ann Boleyn), recreated by the students in the theatre tailoring course, will be displayed together with a wealth of precious photographs generously loaned by the Teatro alla Scala Photography Archives. In addition, in this new location will be also displayed pictures of Lucia di Lammermoor, sung by Callas in 1954 in Bergamo with Gianandrea Gavazzeni as conductor.

Technical Sponsors: Bonaveri, Ferrara; Fondazione Lisio, Firenze; Rubelli, Venezia; Taroni, Como
