he Course for Dance Instructors aims to improve and expand the knowledge and skills of those who already teach ballet, through the deepening of the programme and the methodology adopted in the first three years of the Ballet School.

The graduated students of the course for dance instructors may access to the third year program.

Many étoiles among the most famous in the world have been forged into the Ballet School of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, thanks to the teaching method practiced in over two hundred years. Starting from this background, our students undertake a unique and unrepeatable training program, becoming part of this century-old history.

The instructors in the teachers’ course are all preeminent names not only in ballet and dance but most importantly experts in teaching the art of dance. Students will benefit from close contact with Ballet School professionals throughout their study.

Behind the courtains

Students have the opportunity to participate as assistants in rehearsals for works on the Teatro alla Scala season program, giving them the chance to experience one of the world’s preeminent stages, a veritable temple of ballet.

The course is organized so as to leave a great deal of room for the fundamentally important activity of assisting with stage productions, an indispensable part of personal development in teaching the art of dance.

Final certification

At the end of the course will be issued a “Certificate of Fitness for the Teaching” (Certificato di Idoneità all’Insegnamento) and – to the best students – a certificate of merit. Moreover, for the participant who will be more marked for quality and competence, there will be the opportunity to participate to the activities of the regular teachers (opportunity available for only one candidate).
