On Sept. 19, at 2:30 p.m., the Academy will present the INSPIRE project at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Fine Arts, as part of the initiatives organized for Creative Skills Week 2024 to be held between Sept. 16 and 20.
The workshop titled “Skills for cross-sectorial innovation" will explore how skills from the cultural and creative industries foster cross-sectoral development. Participants will discover practical models and tools for cross-sectorial innovation, offering new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning. In addition to Umberto Bellodi, coordinator of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala and contact person for the INSPIRE project, speakers will include Martin Q. Larsson (Subtopia.se/Katapult Creative Incubator) and Thomas Arctaedius (Royal College of Music, Stockholm).
Creative Skills Week brings together third-level educators, university leaders, vocational education and training providers, industry partners, SMEs, and policymakers dedicated to the future of the cultural and creative sector industries and aims to develop local and European solutions that address the most pressing challenges that have arisen in this area.
INSPIRE is the European Union-founded project that aims to increase the green, digital, entrepreneurial, soft and resilience skills of current and future production managers, set designers, artistic and stage managers, facility managers and stage technicians in the performing arts sector. It also aims to increase professional training and specialize higher education professionals in a holistic and innovative way so that this sector acts as a driver for sustainable development in Europe and beyond.
The aim is to promote innovation through strategic cooperation and knowledge flow between 3 higher and vocational education and training centers and 8 labor market actors in 6 European countries, active in the performing arts sector.
The project was nominated on September 2 for the International Opera Award shortlist in the Sustainability category.
The award ceremony will be held on October 2, 2024 at the Staatsoper in Munich. The awards honor opera talent from around the world, celebrating the diverse and collaborative nature of this art form; the event will be streamed live for free on OperaVision.
