Music in the Air returns in September with two concerts by the Academy's Brass Quintet: on September 18 in Busto Arsizio, at Cascina Borghetto—an event sponsored by the Municipality of Busto Arsizio—and on September 29 in Gallarate (Via Curtatone, 36). In both cases, the event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The program includes the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, pieces by George Gershwin (Cuban Overture; Porgy and Bess), Claude Debussy's Golliwogg's Cakewalk, Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, Ennio Morricone's Moment for Morricone, Dmitri Shostakovich's Second Waltz, and the Pilgrims' Chorus from Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser.
The project, launched in the summer, is being carried out with the support of the Lombardy Region - Culture Department, in collaboration with Aler Varese, Como, Monza Brianza, Busto Arsizio, Consorzio Turistico Media Valtellina and Italia Nostra Aps Sezione di Sondrio, and is part of the Milan Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympics, a multidisciplinary, pluralistic and widespread program to promote Olympic and Paralympic values through culture, heritage and sport.
