Music in the Air
In 27 June, at 6 p.m., the percussion and brass instruments of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Orchestra will be in concert in a public housing estate in Varese (via Borromini, Sangallo district), with a programme ranging from Gabrieli to Cacciola, from Bernstein to Brodmann.
The initiative, entitled ‘Music in the Air’, is realised thanks to the contribution of the Lombardy Region and is part of the Single Notice for Culture 2024, espousing the idea of transforming working-class neighbourhoods into an original auditorium, thus bringing ‘cultured’ music out of its more classical venues.
The concert, with free admission subject to availability, will be complemented by a meeting open to the public on performing arts and crafts.
The Teatro alla Scala Academy, through four departments - Music, Dance, Stage and Management - trains all professional figures related to the performing arts. The Music Department includes the Chamber Ensembles, ensembles created as part of the two-year Advanced course for orchestra musicians, which adds a focus on chamber music to the study and performance practice of the operatic, symphonic and ballet repertoire, with significant experience in Italy and abroad under the aegis of renowned conductors.
