From 13 to 27 October 2024, the Le Mele per il Teatro (Apples for the Theatre) packages will be on sale at major Italian large-scale retail outlets, a corporate social responsibility initiative conceived by CITRUS l'Orto Italiano in collaboration with Fondazione Milano per la Scala to support the Accademia's mission.
Each pack, sold at the price of €2.50, will contain three Italian Gala apples, a high-quality product. For each pack purchased, 50 cents will go to support the La Scala School which, with its centuries-old history dating back to 1813, encourages and accompanies the growth of those young talents who dream of a prestigious career in the performing arts, on stage and behind the scenes.
The project is the result of the encounter between two realities that place at the centre of their activities initiatives capable of generating a positive social impact:
CITRUS l'Orto Italiano, a non-profit company that makes ethical, transparent and sustainable business its founding principle, was founded nine years ago to enhance and rediscover Italian fruit and vegetables through the creation of special projects with a social heart and a sustainable footprint.
Fondazione Milano per la Scala, a philanthropic organisation committed since 1991 to supporting La Scala Theatre through cultural and fundraising activities, has always been at the side of its Academy, which represents the very future not only of the Milanese theatre, but of the theatre in general, whose fundamental function can only be social and civil growth as an instrument of education and awareness, a form of expression and participation, a place for meeting and exchange, and a driver of change.
