IartNET

IartNET aims to improve the internationalization of Italian institutions of higher artistic and musical education (AFAM) by promoting transnational cooperation through the implementation of actions built on connection, experimentation, innovation and diversity.

IartNET is a "system" project based on networking and collaboration, aiming to produce benefits for all AFAM institutions.

GOALS

  • To increase the digital accessibility of AFAM's current practical and artistic research, as well as its cultural heritage, thus enabling:
  1. access to hitherto poorly accessible materials both nationally and internationally
  2. the vindication of the role of AFAM institutions within a long history and tradition of Italian artistic excellence in all fields
  3. the generation of transdisciplinary and cross-sectoral dialogues between the present and the past, and between different types of heritage and contemporary artistic productions, as resources for creating a sense of community, promoting innovation and diversity.
  • To promote the international attractiveness of AFAM institutions, and thus their role and international relations, through the implementation of a network of Italian and foreign institutions of higher education in art and music willing to share
  1. data on artistic practice/research and cultural heritage
  2. know-how on internationalization processes and activities that conform to the policies
  • Fostering the establishment of research institutes at AFAM institutions through the implementation of an international hub in Italy aimed at

  1. forming a research community of supervisors and experts
  2. design innovative third-cycle degrees under the Bologna Process.

The IartNET project is closely connected to ADA - DIGIT-ART Academy for Culture and Schools.

The ADA - ACCADEMIA DIGIT-ART project aims at recovering, revising, indexing and sharing the multimedia and physical heritage of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala: a wide repertoire of photographs, videos and audio recordings mainly made between 2001 and the present day.

The material object of the project investment carries with it an important educational and documentary value, being related to the educational and performing activities carried out at an institutional level by the Accademia.

Through an integrated and participative promotion strategy, the project aims to make the result of this digital archival retrieval available to all second-cycle schools in the Lombardy Region, providing a functional tool for interdisciplinary didactics in the field of culture and art, technologically innovative and sustainable over the long term.

As of the academic year 2024-2025, the project has entered a second phase of development, aiming to network its heritage into a shared platform representing the cultural heritage of the Italian AFAM sector at national and international level.
