On 29 May (replies 30 and June 1) the Chamber Ensemble specializing in repertoire of the twentieth century has been at the Wiener Festwochen in Austria, at the Hall of the Museum Quarter, for Luca Francesconi's Quartett, directed by Alex Ollé (La Fura dels Baus), in a co-production with the Vienna Festival and IRCAM.
To interpret the roles of the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, Allison Cook and Robin Adams.
Inspired to play by Heiner Müller, freely adapted from Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre-Ambroise-Francois Choderlos de Laclos's work in thirteen scenes Francesconi has been highly successful in his debut at Teatro alla Scala, in April 2011; the prestigious Viennese festival, which takes advantage of the artistic director Luc Bondy and the music of Stéphane Lissner, then will host the first performance in Germanic area. The original text, in English, will be subtitled in German.
